One of the greatest sax players of his day.  He was a longtime performer in Russia's avant-jazz underground, and has since relocated to Bulgaria, where his ethnic roots lie.  He has a magical way of mixing jazz with the best of Balkan musical folklore, weaving something almost calm and other-worldly, whilst still retaining an almost chaotic edge to his work.  He will be looked upon in future years as one of the most important (and unsung) musicians in the history of jazz.
