SHEPHERD, TOM An old hand in this game, so to speak. Tom Shepherd has been making and taking his own directions in jazz for nearly 30 years, but recently decided that it was time to do a bit of experimenting, so he tweaked some sounds, mixed in some rock and shakuhachi influences. He came up with "Dragon," a release that Falçata-Galia has decided to distribute until we have Tom finish a brand new album for us. "Dragon" is a very short release, and priced accordingly, but it gives a glimpse of life that jazz still has, if mixed with some newer influences. |
